Make A Good Day

Today is a good day to make a good day. So, what do you typically do to make your day a good one? Do you start with a morning stretch, make the bed, have a fresh cup of coffee, gird your loins, and then line up your ducks? Or do you go directly for your passion and make it happen – sort of a "Flashdance"?
On a recent trip to Florida, we got up early to enjoy an ocean sunrise on the dining deck of Hardrock Hotel in Daytona Beach. We decided to have a leisurely breakfast, savoring our coffee with the beautiful sunrise on our shoulders. All memorialized in our happy selfie. Not so hard to make that day a good day! We can almost feel the salt air when we look at our selfie.
Bill: Food and view were awesome, and we threw in some clever conversation. (See our blog article Clever Conversation Keeps Things Interesting). From the pix you can see Sheri had already decided her future was bright (note the oversized shades).
It’s pretty common for someone to say, “have a good day”, but we never hear “make a good day,” and there is a difference. “Have a good day” is like being lucky enough to randomly find a four-leaf clover. “Make a good day” is more like planting a garden of four-leaf clovers and then reaping the benefits.
Sheri: Sometimes we forget that we have some choice in the matter, and maybe even get annoyed when no four-leaf clovers come our way. Instead, just take a little time to plant some clover: appreciate the people and things that matter in your life, call a friend you haven’t talked to in a while, or finish a task you have been avoiding, or maybe plan a trip…lot’s of good things can happen!
And just maybe we should all start saying to folks “Make a good day,” as sort of a gentle reminder to plant some clover. How about it? Ready to make today a good day?
