Sun, sun, sun, here it comes! Ok, ok, we know it’s still winter, but once we hit early to mid-winter, we start wooing the sun to come out and calling for spring, and “Here Comes the Sun” is perfect! It’s about hope and optimism, expressing the change of season from winter to spring and the arrival of sun and warmer weather. After all, the days are getting longer…yea!

Bill: One of our favorite songs is “Here Comes The Sun” written by George Harrison. He wrote it in early 1969 at the country house of his friend Eric Clapton, and it’s one of his best-known compositions.

FYI , we were so grateful to walk the beach the morning I captured this beautiful sunrise. I took the shot before the seagulls knew we were there and, frankly, before we were fully awake.

Sheri: As of 2023 “Here Comes the Sun was the first Beatle’s song to surpass one billion plays on Spotify, and the first song from the 1960’s to achieve this awesome milestone. Pretty sure we aren’t the only ones who love this song!

The song’s beautiful lyrics and melody have a calming and motivational effect. As an “anthem of sunshine” it is a rejuvenating mantra in hopes of things to come—sort of like seeing a light at the end of the tunnel after a “long and lonely winter”.

While we have never recorded it, we perform “Here Comes The Sun” live to an always appreciative audience – we all end up feeling good. Once we initially decided who was playing what and who was singing what, we captured a practice session and then created a video for our YouTube Channel…check it out!
