Good Partners...

Good partners take turns leading and following…not only by design but also instinctively and naturally. This “Good Partners” image was created one morning while we were photo stalking the sunrise over Destin-Ft Walton Beach Florida. At that moment two seagulls came flying up the beach. As they were going to pass between us and the sun, Bill lined up the shot as the gull partners switched leads in their formation, taking turns leading and following.        

Sheri: The first partnership that come to mind is Oscar and Hammerstein who are credited  with being the “greatest musical writing duo of the 20th century”.  Then there is American comedy team Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis with their iconic crooning and improv humor and slapstick comedy...they really knew how to lean into each other to perfect their performance. But my all-time favorite partnership is Simon & Garfunkel who influenced our own "Sheri & Bill" music and style, who gave us amazing songs and harmonies that will live on forever!

Bill: When I was a kid, Rocky and Bullwinkle were my favorite cartoon duo--they always saved the day. Today’s kids probably remember Bert and Ernie, the Sesame Street puppets created by Jim Henson and Frank Oz. Turns out that the relationship shown between Bert and Ernie is  actually mimics the real-life relationship between Jim and Frank…. sort of a partnership within a partnership!  

We can't forget Orville and Wilber Wright with their first motor operated flying machine, and Ben and Jerry who started out as childhood friends and then as adults took ice cream to another level.

Whether it's a cowboy and his horse saving the day (remember Roy Rogers and Trigger?)  or Jake and Elwood, two well-dressed blues singers from Chicago on a “mission from God,” good partners take turns leading and following.
