Eat Your Fruits and Veggies and...? We did a survey of willing foodie participants who told us “Cheeseburgers, French fries, onion rings and milk shakes are the preferred major food groups”.
Well, not trying to be zealous health nuts here, but we have it from a reliable source that, “Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels” (check out our motivational gallery for that one!), and we know that being healthy takes a strong focus on fruits and veggies.
So, what’s a person to do when confronted with perfectly salted fries and a cheeseburger from paradise?
Bill: Yum! I specifically remember Jimmy Buffet saying, “I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinze 57 and French-fried potatoes, big kosher pickle and a cold glass of beer…”
Sheri: Yes, but then there is also Hippocrates who said, “Let food be thy medicine…” Even though this is a quote from around 400 BC, it still seems pretty relevant--you are what you eat.
You may have different “devil made me do it” foods that tempt you—after all we are all human and it is normal to love food. (Remember the apple, snake, and garden story?)
Maybe if we just take the approach of eating healthy 80% of the time – bet we will all see noteworthy results health wise and fitness wise that we can be proud of.
So, can we have our cake and eat it too? Damn right we can! It’s really just a timing thing like most things in life. Happy healthy eating!
